All Kinds of Changes!

It’s hard to know where to even begin in telling about all the changes that have taken place in Quinn and Keira over the past 3 weeks! Quinn is rolling over, sitting up with some help, almost crawling, he found his feet, and it’s like in the past few weeks he can REALLY see things! His world has completely opened up and he is loving it! He still loves to see people and will smile and laugh every time someone looks at him- he’s such the little socialite! He is still the super giant wonder baby weighing in at 17.5 pounds- only 10 pounds behind Keira! We are also starting cereal next week! I’m sure that he will catch up to Keira someday and I’ll get comments about my “cute twins.”

Keira is going through a language explosion! She knows so many words and signs! But if she can’t figure out how to say a word, she uses the sound “GAH” -so many things are “GAH” to her. It’s so amazing to see her watching me say words and then her trying so hard to imitate the sounds and mouth movements. Her favorite words these days are Elmo, UP, and Spoon - sounds like “soon” but pretty close! Many times she will talk all day to me and I can understand her words, but she gets performance anxiety around daddy- even though I SWEAR she had said something all day! Many words just mommy can understand! She is actually playing with other kids- and seems very interested in them! And she is finally able to entertain herself somewhat and really enjoys being in her room for some “her time.” She will take out, change, and play CD’s and read her books in her room- and she wants to be all by herself- nice for mommy!!! Now we just need to work on potty training, getting dressed, and using a spoon/fork.

Monkey Around Town

Keira spotted Curious George outside the library and she let out a huge scream, pointed and shouted "MO MO," and ran over to meet him! She couldn't believe how BIG he was- much larger than he appears to be in her books!

Sunny Days

I've never seen a baby that smiles and laughs as much as Quinn!!!

We tried out the Bumbo chair-- Quinn thought it was interesting, but prefers to roll around on the floor.

Bad hair day? Keira has daddy's hair for sure!!

Today I watched Keira’s friend Clark, and I have realized that first I’m glad Keira wasn’t twins, and second I scratched the baby itch to have three—it’s gone, gone, gone! Two is enough! At one point I had three hungry, tired, in need of a diaper change humans- and one of me- Abbey dog was absolutely no help except to entertain Clark! For the most part, though, we had a fabulous time and Keira practiced sharing and “playing” with another child. I actually managed to get them all fed, diapered, and SLEEPING at the same time! I am amazing!!!!

One more???

Quinn is officially the exact age that Keira was when we found out we were expecting #2! NO surprises or announcements in store for us this week and, sorry Quinn, no little bro or sis for you!!

He seems okay with that!!

I asked Keira if she wanted another brother or sister.....

She signed "MORE" :) I'm sure she doesn't mean it! One "bubba" is enough for her!

I have actually been thinking about having a third-- someone SLAP ME!!!!

A bunch more vacation pictures...

Keira continuously signing "cookie" and me wondering WHY in the world did I teach her that sign?

Keira's favorite part of the Children's Museum was carrying around this fake steak from the play grocery area. She wouldn't give it up and we had to pry it from her before leaving.
